Around Caldeira
Caldeira is an impressive volcanic collapse crater and is around 400 thousand years old. It is located in the central part of Faial island, has a diameter of 2000 meters and a depth of 400 meters.
This is a 7 kilometer hike of medium difficulty around one of the largest volcanic craters in the Azores, Caldeira do Faial. It's a perfect way to enjoy the fantastic landscapes inside this giant crater and see some parishes that exist around the island.

Meeting point
- Activity starts at 10:00.
- The Meeting Point will be between 9:20 and 9:30 outside your hotel reception, at the Maritime Terminal, or at the location mentioned in Horta. The guide will be in a gray Opel van.
- Let us know if you prefer to take your own transport to the starting point of the hike. In this case, the meeting point will be at 10:00 at Miradouro da Caldeira do Faial.
